My personal story highlights a lifetime of golf. I started when I was 5 years old – sometimes playing 54 holes a day in the summer with my pals. I played tournaments throughout the summer and high school golf in the spring. I tried out for the golf team at my division I university but I did not make the cut. Then life happens and the next thing you know you are playing once a month. In the fall of 2015 I started practicing to turn my game around. By November of 2016 I was still struggling with my game and had an index of 11.0. I just spent a year, practicing, taking lessons and trying to improve my game with very little improvement. I needed a plan but I was surprised to learn that there really isn’t a teacher or an organization that will walk you through a learning process that is comprehensive. I could only find “specialists”.

I immersed myself in the game. Not just practice and playing, but making sure that my equipment was up to date and that I was around good players, watching closely for insight into their game. I walked the course, scoring for Kenny Perry, Gene Sauers, Jesper Parnevik, Tom Lehman and Kevin Sutherland. I did the same for the Walker Cup and the U.S. Amateur where I had the privilege of scoring for Amateur Champions. I am a student and friend of Long Driving Champion Pat Dempsey. Being around better players makes your game better! That’s a fact!

I am not a professional. I am not going to tell you how to hit a single shot. I will, however, tell you what I did with my game and how I came to the conclusions I have on certain golf principles, allowing you to draw your own conclusions. I will point you to the instructors and the lessons I evaluated and the ones I applied.

Today my index is 2.2 (12/19/17) and I continue to improve. Single Digit Golf will help you plan to meet your handicap goals as well, saving you time and money along the way. I promise.
